Webinar: June 13, 2019 at 2 pm-3 pm US East Coast Time
Wells College is a small liberal arts college in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Robert Cree, VP and CFO at Wells will be speaking with Bob Hinkle, the President of Metrus Energy, and Eric Howard, the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Second Nature about how Wells has approached and solved some of their energy needs.
Based in a small town and celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2018, Wells offers integrated hands-on learning opportunities, a connected community, and diverse educational opportunities. In preparing for the next 150 years, Wells and Metrus recently announced a $2.2 million Efficiency Services Agreement (ESA) project.
The energy project will create a more comfortable living and learning environment in key residential dormitory buildings and academic spaces. The work includes campus lighting, comfort control upgrades, building envelope, steam traps and significant new HVAC controls. These efficiency improvements will result in approximately a 14% reduction in total electricity use on campus and a 28% drop in fossil fuel (propane and fuel oil) consumption. Trane, a global provider of indoor comfort systems and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will be responsible for the installation and monitoring of the energy efficiency upgrades, and New Resource Bank is the lender on this project.
The Wells College project is $2.2 million, and the discussion will focus on similar projects valued at $2 million to $10 million.
