Climate Programs Fellow
Molly Tarvin is an Allegheny Fellow for the summer of 2021, working with Second Nature to help develop multiple areas of research, including writing case studies for partnering universities and colleges dedicated to sustainability.
A rising senior at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, Molly is majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in both economics and creative writing. Last semester, Molly worked closely with college administration and the previous chair of the environmental science department to develop a plan to integrate the college with the surrounding city of Meadville, researching mutually beneficial methods that could benefit both parties conjointly. Such methods involved a climate action plan for the city of Meadville, fifth year internships for graduating Allegheny students, and a business incubator to introduce new and diverse entrepreneurs to the Meadville economy.
Molly is interested in environmental economics, especially the reconciliation of both fields, and enjoys the challenge of publicizing climate issues to the general public through creative forms of writing. On the side, Molly likes to write books and watch Netflix, and she can always be found running along a country road at some point during the day.
