Climate Programs Data Manager
Andy is the Climate Programs Data Manager at Second Nature. Based in Boston, he focuses on supporting the improvement of Second Nature’s Climate Leadership Network programs, aiding signatories of the Presidents’ Climate Leadership Commitments in the reporting of their implementation progress on climate or resilience goals, managing database maintenance of signatory information on the Second Nature Salesforce CRM & Reporting Platform, and developing data for grant reports and internal tracking.
Prior to joining Second Nature, Andy worked for the University of New Hampshire’s Sustainability Institute (UNHSI, 17-18) as a research assistant, where he developed an improved method for calculating mobile emissions factors for nitrogen and methane and helped launch the Sustainability Indicator Management and Analysis Platform (SIMAP). He is an alumnus of UNHSI’s fellowship program (2018), operating out of York, ME, with the non-profit New Earth B on their Handprinter project. He also co-founded Half-Acre Beekeeping (est. 2017)– a network of environmentally sustainable micro-apiaries based on the NH Seacoast. Half-Acre was born out of Andy and his partner’s first-place entry in the 2017 NH Social Venture Innovation Challenge.
Andy graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Environmental Conservation & Sustainability (2017). During his undergraduate career, Andy traveled to Iceland to study sustainability and energy efficiency with the GREEN program (2014). As a student, Andy worked on several climate policy consulting projects, focusing on research related to the US Climate Alliance and the Georgetown Transportation & Climate Initiative. He was also an active participant in UNH’s Entrepreneurship Center (eCenter) and Engineers Without Borders chapter.
