Andrea Lo

Tisch Summer Fellow

Andrea joins Second Nature over the summer as a Tisch Summer Fellow. As an intern, she is responsible for assisting in recruitment and retention strategy of the Affiliates program as well as assisting in data analysis of publicly reported greenhouse gas emissions by colleges and universities. She is currently pursuing her dual degree master’s in Innovation & Management and Civil & Environmental Engineering at Tufts University. Prior to Tufts, Andrea did ecology research at the University of Southern Denmark, where she studied sediment and fauna conditions in various lagoons, both natural and realigned, and obtained her B.S. in Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During her time at MIT, Andrea was a member of the Undergraduate Association on Sustainability, and she also worked with MIT Sea Grant on creating and implementing an environmental education kit and curriculum for elementary school students on the Floating Wetland Project.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Andrea is deeply grateful for the intercultural and lively environment she grew up in and was inspired to pursue a career in environmental sciences after many days spent rowing past trash in the marina and growing up near coastal wetlands.
