Inactive Signatories

Due to over two years of not reporting and/or being unresponsive to dues requests, the following institutions are listed as inactive signatories. Only active institutions are listed on the Reporting Platform and in Marks of Distinction, to better showcase recent data and effort.  If you believe this status determination was an error, we apologize and please contact us so we can correct the listing.

To become listed again as active and therefore eligible for full network benefits, an institution must support the Climate Leadership Network through dues and report progress annually via the Reporting Platform.

Learn more about the support available to become active.

What support can be provided if you would like to become active?

1) Dues

Thanks to the generosity of Honor Society dues contributors we will offer support to under-resourced signatories that want to participate but can’t financially contribute the regular dues amount to the network (eligibility is currently defined as those with under $1B in endowment funds).

Please contact Second Nature staff to learn more about this opportunity; dues should not be the only stumbling block to active participation.

2) Reporting

Second Nature staff offers hands-on support and resources to begin reporting and sharing your campus’s knowledge. Often the necessary data may be readily available, and we can help quickly get you back on track.

3) Contact Management

Often a school is inactive because no staff member has been assigned the crucial Implementation Liaison role. Selecting and supporting an appropriate person to lead climate change action efforts is essential to becoming active. Please contact Second Nature staff to learn more and assign a new contact.

4) Withdrawal Process

Alternatively, becoming active might not be an institutional goal. If that is the case please follow the process for voluntary withdrawal, which includes a direct withdrawal request from the President or Chancellor.

Making Your Mark – Leading With Distinction

On the positive side, Marks of Distinction is a initiative that recognizes active signatories that have set high-performance goals, demonstrate progress, and support the Network’s activities. Please note, future iterations of Marks of Distinction will be released in the fall of each year, so if your institution becomes active, you will have the opportunity for positive recognition.
