Pro Bono Consulting Round II

“Second Nature’s pro-bono consulting initiative provided an infusion of expertise I never could have delivered as a one-person Office of Sustainability. CustomerFirst Renewables’ time spent educating and answering questions from our CFO and Director of Facilities built their confidence in approving an ambitious Climate Action Plan that we now know is also achievable. As a direct result of that award, we now have a clear path forward to address our Scope Two emissions, the single largest share of our campus footprint.

Yancey Fouché, MS, ISSP-SA
Director of Sustainability, Davidson College

Background:
In Fall 2020, we announced a new Solutions Center initiative – Pro Bono Consulting.  Thanks to the generous support of Second Nature partners, CustomerFirst Renewables (CFR) and Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), we were able to offer this opportunity (pro bono consulting to support higher education institutions’ campus climate work) to Climate Leadership Network signatories and University Climate Change Coalition (UC3) members.  Due to the success of the inaugural round, we are thrilled to be able to offer a Round II!

Purpose:
Achieving your climate goals is no easy feat.  Add on top of that, the urgency to do so in this global climate emergency, plus the external pressure on the higher education sector to continue to accelerate your climate efforts.  In our continued effort to support your work, this is one unique way that we can do so in conjunction with CFR and B&D.

This initiative provides pro bono support to campuses across North America in two areas: 1) Climate Action Planning or 2) Shifting to Renewable Power.

How to Apply:
√ Your college/university must be a Climate Leadership Network signatory and/or UC3 member to be eligible to apply for this opportunity.  If your institution is not, but you are interested in opportunities like this, please contact Steve Muzzy ([email protected]) about how to join the Climate Leadership Network, or Rachel Valletta ([email protected]) about how to join UC3.
