Second Nature Initiatives are projects and efforts created, launched, and implemented by Second Nature, and continued to be managed by the organization.
There is no climate justice without racial justice. On the Climate Justice section of our website, you will find background information, tools, resources, and much more to help your institution accelerate the work of racial and climate justice in, and through higher education. This section was developed in partnership with our member institutions.
The Solutions Center identifies carbon and energy reducing activities to support campus climate action goals. The objective of the Solutions Center is to help campuses review more quickly the solutions available and to help build a presentation for decision makers to be able to assess and prioritize decisions faster in order to accelerate climate action.
The Pro Bono Consulting effort is an opportunity for colleges and universities who are Climate Leadership Network signatories and/or University Climate Change Coalition (UC3) members to apply for technical assistance through this opportunity. The winners receive pro bono strategic advisory services to help advance their climate efforts at their campus.
The Acceleration Fund is dedicated to supporting innovative cross-sector climate action activities driven by colleges and universities. This is an exclusive opportunity for the colleges and universities who are Climate Leadership Network signatories and/or University Climate Change Coalition (UC3) members.
C2P2 is an initiative to support colleges and universities in developing and marketing carbon offsets as a way to accelerate their progress towards campus carbon neutrality.
The SOLVE Dialogue Series is an initiative that was created in partnership with network liaisons and developed as a peer-to-peer platform aimed at addressing some of the most pressing issues facing campus climate leaders. SOLVE brings together campus climate professionals – by coming together as a community, sharing ideas, and developing actionable solutions, we believe we can SOLVE the most pressing climate-related issues and continue to accelerate climate action on campus and in our communities.

America Is All In (AIAI) – formerly We Are Still In (WASI) is a ramped up call for climate action of more than 3,900 from all different sectors; including higher education. Second Nature helped to coordinate the original joint declaration.
GRITS is an online tracking platform that allows users to track the energy, financial, and carbon savings data from sustainability projects. Through the a partnership between Second Nature and the Sustainable Endowments Institute (SEI), all Climate Leadership Network signatories have free access to GRITS as a signatory benefit.
Race to Zero is a global campaign to mobilize leadership and support from businesses, higher education, cities, regions, and investors, for a Healthy, Resilient and Fair Zero carbon recovery that prevents future threats, creates decent jobs and unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth. Second Nature is a partner in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) Race to Zero Campaign.
The EV Purchasing Collaborative works to leverage the buying power of U.S. Climate Mayors cities – and now higher education institutions – to reduce the cost of EVs and charging stations.
