Clean Car Standards Letter (Winter/Spring 2019)
The Colorado Air Quality Control Commission recently adopted the the Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standard and will be considering the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) program. Together, LEV and ZEV will help put more clean and efficient cars on the road. The Commission will vote to consider the ZEV program in May 2019.
Opportunity: Second Nature and Ceres are collecting signatures for a letter that applauds the Commission on its adoption of LEV and expresses support for ZEV.

Oregon (March 2019)
In Oregon, state legislators unveiled HB2020, also known as Cap and Invest, which is a market-based policy approach to reduce GHG emissions by 45% from 1990 levels by 2035 and an 80% reduction by 2050. This program would link to the regional Western Climate Initiative (WCI) program, a carbon market collaboration of independent jurisdictions working together to identify, evaluate, and implement emissions trading policies to tackle climate change at a regional level.

Clean Energy Support Letter
Following Governor Cooper’s executive order on climate change and in the lead-up to North Carolina’s 2019 legislative session Second Nature and Ceres are seeking to show Governor Cooper that North Carolina businesses and campuses are supportive of his action.
