Carleton College Food Waste Recovery Project
Students at Carleton College have been working with a partner nonprofit to recover and redistribute discarded food, thereby diverting 300,000 pounds of food from the landfill annually. This work has prompted the student-led development of a methane avoidance project through Second Nature’s Offset Network. Once approved, the project will allow Carleton College to offset a portion of scope 3 emissions.
