About
The Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit, co-hosted by Second Nature and the Intentional Endowments Network (IEN), is the premier annual gathering of higher education leaders committed to addressing inequality and the climate crisis.
The 2023 Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit took place February 5-7, 2023 at the University of Miami in Florida. The 2023 Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit was the first in-person Summit since the pandemic. We recognize that returning our higher education institutions to “normal” is an inadequate response to the grand challenges facing our global society. At the 2023 Summit, we engaged in dialogue and action planning to further college and university climate, equity, and sustainability goals – focusing on implementation, updating commitments, goal-setting processes, and institutional leadership.

Centering Justice
“We aim to be anti-racist organizations and to help break down the unjust systems to enable the development of more equitable and just systems in all facets of society including education, business, finance, governance, and civil society.”
