Programs and Operations Intern
Katherine Gagen is the Programs and Operations Intern at Second Nature. Prior to joining Second Nature, Katherine was a student at Trinity College and worked as a Student Outreach Coordinator at her college’s Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement. As a Student Outreach Coordinator, Katherine planned and implemented student programming with a focus in human rights, including environmental rights, for her college campus. During her time at Trinity, Katherine spent a year in Buenos Aires and a semester in Shanghai studying the effects of urbanization on sustainable development. Katherine graduated from Trinity College in May with a BA in both Hispanic Studies and Urban Studies.
Katherine’s passion for sustainability stems from her time abroad. Throughout her travels, she saw firsthand how environmental issues in one region can affect people across the globe, which influenced her view on sustainability and what it means to be a citizen of the world. After her internship, Katherine is excited to return to Argentina as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. When she returns, she hopes to enroll in a graduate program focused on urban sustainable development. Katherine is excited to join the Second Nature team and is looking forward to learning new skills.
