Gina Stovall

Cross-Sector Climate Action Manager

Gina is the Manager of Cross-Sector Climate Action where she manages the development of the University Climate Change Coalition (UC3) coalition and supports all of Second Nature’s collaborative cross-sector climate work. Gina’s work in academia, the public sector, and the not-for-profit world makes her particularly cognizant of the power of cross-sector engagement to prepare for and find solutions to climate change.

Prior to joining Second Nature Gina worked on long-term climate resilience planning and implementation in New York State’s Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery. She conducted research on the managed retreat after Hurricane Sandy devastated the region and managed a $580 million dollar program that supported families who sought to move out of high-risk coastal areas in the NYC metro region. Gina also worked at ICLEI-USA Local Governments for Sustainability where she helped build a coalition of local climate leaders in cities and states across the US to mobilize and support the Paris Climate Agreement. In addition, Gina has  conducted research at Columbia University’s Earth Institute on climate change perceptions, communication and engagement; studies that have influenced her work toward equitable, solutions-oriented communication and innovative, data-driven decision-making.

Gina holds a Master’s from Columbia University in Climate & Society and a Bachelor’s in Geology from The City College of New York – CUNY.
