Join us for a series of discussions, powered by the ACUPCC network!
In celebration of Earth Month, we invite you to join the ACUPCC Support Team and other experts in the network for a series of discussions. The ACUPCC On Air Series will take place every Tuesday, 1-1:30 PM EDT, in April. Each week will feature a discussion topic presented by experts of the ACUPCC network, as well as a FAQs session with questions submitted by ACUPCC sustainability champions. We would love to hear from you! We are now soliciting questions and suggestions for topics to cover in this series. Submit your questions to Interested in being a panelist? Contact Van Du.

Reflections from the 2014 Smart and Sustainable Campuses Conference

A large part of our work towards achieving a sustainable society is based on the connections we make and the information we share using cross-institutional platforms and events. One such event was the 9th Annual Smart and Sustainable Campuses Conference, which several representatives from Second Nature recently had the pleasure of attending. The conference, which ran from March 3-4, 2014 and was held in Baltimore’s beautiful Inner Harbor featured presentations focused on Adaptation and Resilience, Change Management and Implementation, Social Sustainability, the Built Environment and the Campus as a Learning Laboratory. GRITS 1.0 - A New Tool for Energy Efficiency Project Tracking

In April, a new tool will be launched to help colleges achieve their ACUPCC goals through streamlined tracking and calculation of project-level energy, financial and carbon data. GRITS 1.0 (Green Revolving Investment Tracking System) is a breakthrough web platform that provides real, accessible, shareable data to unite management of both financial and environmental project performance. Developed by the Sustainable Endowments Institute, an ACUPCC and Second Nature partner, GRITS offers a necessary bridge between managing and reporting, creating the space for schools to track, analyze and share information on specific projects or groups of projects—well beyond the capabilities of spreadsheets.Read more»

Meet the Champion Implementers of the Network
The Implementation Liaison (IL) Leadership Circle is a group of champions who have implemented innovative sustainability and climate action strategies on their campuses to overcome challenges and create an institutional framework to advance their community toward a sustainable future. The IL Leaders provide peer-to-peer support to individuals responsible for implementing the ACUPCC at signatory institutions. They are committed to sharing their expertise and knowledge with the ACUPCC network in the effort to accelerate the collective learning towards climate disruption solutions. The ACUPCC is a partnership of 674 colleges and universities in every state and the District of Columbia who have committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare students through research and education to solve the challenges of the 21st century.
